Improved model detection
In October, I have improved the algorithm for finding new models. Many people use my site to find rare, out of production models, so the goal is to detect and index more rare models.
Rarity scores
To help people find the rare models, I have added rarity scores to all the 180,000+ models on the site. Rarity score goes from 1 to 10 with 10 being the most super rare models. You can read more about the Model Prices rarity score here.
More slot cars
Just like I already had for model trains, I have coded product sorting algorithms for slot cars. With the new algorithms, I have started added more slot cars to the site. Goal is for the slot car section to be as useful as the model train section 😅
Hobby pages
Until now, the frontpage of Model Prices have served as the intro page to all the model train models on the site. With slot cars being added to the site, I need separate intro pages for each hobby – and the frontpage leading to the different hobbies (slot cars is just the first thing on the site besides the model trains. Other hobby models will be added in the future).
Stats
There are now 1,585 shops on the site (added quite a few slot car shops this month) + 181,259 models and 6,848,484 prices.
