Prototypes
I have noticed searches for specific prototypes. To help out there, I have started creating prototypes pages that work similar to the category and brand pages.
Started with British prototypes like the class 08 and class 40.
Country focused product pages
I have realized that most people want to buy their trains from shops in their own country, so the product pages now focus on the user’s country by default. For example like this for a user from France:
Clicking the icons above the prices, you can change between focusing on prices in your country vs. showing all the prices.
Fewer prices shown
As I add more and more shops to the site, there are models that have more than a hundred prices 😅 100+ prices create really long pages, so by default product pages now only show ~10 prices. If you want to see all the prices, just click the “Show All Prices” button (and click “Show Less Prices” to show only the default ~10 prices).
Local marketplaces
To help people searching for rare models, I have improved the code getting Ebay products. I have also started adding marketplaces like Bonanza and more local (i.e. country specific) marketplaces.
Stats
There are now 1,378 shops on the site + 154,530 models and 5,864,237 prices.
